Local-First PsychologyTools

Your journal shouldn't live on someone else's server. Why we built 4Angles to keep your data on your device.

Psychology tools handle some of the most sensitive data imaginable — your fears, your relationships, your unfiltered thoughts. That data shouldn't live on a server in Virginia.

The Local-First Architecture

When you write in 4Angles, your data is stored in IndexedDB on your device. It never leaves your browser unless you explicitly sync it.

  • Instant — No network latency. Writes happen in <10ms.
  • Private — Data stays on your device by default.
  • Offline — Works without internet. Sync when you're ready.
  • Yours — Export everything. Delete everything. You're in control.

Sync is Optional

If you want to access your journal across devices, you can enable sync. But it's encrypted end-to-end. We can't read your entries even if we wanted to.

Most apps make the cloud the default and local an afterthought. We inverted that.
