Most apps fight for your attention. Bright colors, urgent notifications, gamification loops. For a psychology tool, this is exactly wrong.
The Anxiety Tax
Every jarring interaction has a cost. A harsh color spikes cortisol. An unexpected animation triggers vigilance. A loading spinner creates uncertainty.
We call this the anxiety tax — the subtle stress accumulation from thoughtless design.
Our Principles
- Grayscale foundation — Color is almost never used.
- Visible transitions — Every state change is animated.
